VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu attended Carrot Harvest Festival in Hai Duong Province

(TITC) - On February 15, Hai Duong Province held the first Carrot Harvest Festival 2022 in Duc Chinh Commune, Cam Giang District. Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism attended the event.

Carrots are one of the eight key agricultural products of Hai Duong Province, produced in the model of large-scale concentrated goods, applying high technology, concentrated mainly in Cam Giang and Nam Sach districts and Chi Linh City.

In recent years, the agriculture and tourism industries are gradually shaking hands to create sustainable agricultural tourism products, contributing to adding value to local farmers and tourism. The Carrot Harvest Festival 2022 is the first step to create a tourism product in Hai Duong Province to attract tourists.

Speaking at the festival, Mr. Trieu The Hung, Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the Carrot Harvest Festival was held at the beginning of spring to pay homage to the heavens and earth that have favored natural conditions, hope that the crops in the following years will have favorable weather, bountiful carrots, good price.

The festival is an opportunity to promote and introduce Hai Duong's carrot products to domestic and foreign markets, attract investment in agriculture in general and carrot in particular; step by step build a value chain for key agricultural products and carrot products in a sustainable way.

At the carrot harvest festival, the organizers held a carrot harvesting competition with 5 teams. The members of the competition team are artists, football players from Hai Duong and foreigners. At the end of the contest, the organizers awarded prizes to the team with the best product, time and technique.

The delegates also participated in the carrot procession at Tam Phu Temple (Duc Chinh Commune, Cam Giang District), visiting a booth displaying products from carrots; at the same time cut the ribbon to export Hai Duong carrots abroad in 2022.
