VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu has a working session with Quang Binh Province on tourism development

(TITC) - On 19th February, in Quang Binh Province, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Mr. Ha Van Sieu had a working session with the Quang Binh Department of Tourism on tourism development and the plan to welcome international tourists this year.

According to the report of the Department of Tourism, due to the impact of the pandemic, in 2021, Quang Binh tourism was estimated to welcome 570,000 visitor arrivals, a decrease of 60% compared to 2020, international visitors were estimated at 5,700 visitor arrivals, a decrease of 90%.

Although there was a decrease in the number of visitors, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and Quang Binh tourism are still rated as one of the most attractive destinations in Vietnam by the world’s leading travel magazine.

With the goal of welcoming 2 million visitor arrivals in 2022, right from the beginning of the year, Quang Binh has well prepared the facilities and human resources to resume tourism activities.

The total number of tourists in the first 2 months of 2022 has been estimated at 96,530 visitor arrivals, including 700 international visitor arrivals. Quang Binh tourism industry has also intensified promotion with further promoting and preparing favourable conditions to be ready to welcome international tourists in the near future.

Laying great store on the results that Quang Binh tourism industry has achieved recently despite the great impact of the pandemic, VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu stated, Quang Binh is one of the pioneer localities to welcome visitors post COVID-19 pandemic, offers attractive tourism products and services, meeting the diverse needs of tourists in the new normal state.

Quang Binh tourism industry has also maintained a regular and continuous connection with domestic and international tourist markets, gradually asserting itself as the leading attractive destination in Vietnam and the region.

VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu hopes that Quang Binh Province will continuously focus on investment so the tourism industry can quickly recover post the pandemic, worthy of being the key economic sector of the province in the future.

VNAT’s Vice Chairman also suggested Quang Binh Province to quickly prepare plans, services and improve products, to be ready to fully open to international tourists from 15th March; At the same time, he affirmed that the VNAT will keep accompanying and supporting Quang Binh Province in tourism promotion activities, contributing to the strong recovery of the tourism industry.
