(TITC) - From 15th March 2022, Vietnam tourism officially resumes fully tourism activities under the direction of Government in the new normal. Whole tourism industry implements the Guidance No.829/PA-BVHTTDL issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This is fundamental for localities and businesses to restore safe and effective tourism activities
On 15th March, the MOCST has coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organise a conference to open international tourism safely and effectively. Attending the conference, Mr. Vu Duc Dam, Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that opening up to international tourism is part of the great policy of the Party and State to resume Vietnam's international trade and exchange activities after being affected by the pandemic.
To be ready for the reopening of tourism, right from 11th March 2022, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa Province held a Ceremony to announce Thanh Hoa Tourism Logo; Launching the tourism stimulus programme in 2022 and welcoming international tourists to Thanh Hoa in response to the programme to resume tourism activities in the context of flexibly, safely adapting, and effectively controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. With the campaign to build Thanh Hoa destination - safe, friendly and attractive, the locality strives to achieve the goal of welcoming over 10 million visitor arrivals by 2022, including more than 440,000 international visitor arrivals, a total of tourism receipts reaching nearly VND18 trillion.
On 18th March, in Bac Lieu Province, the conference to implement the plan in 2022 - The programme of alliance and cooperation in tourism development in Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces, cities in the Mekong Delta and the launching ceremony to reopen tourism activities took place with the presence of Mr. Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) and leaders of provinces and cities in the region. At the conference, the signing ceremony of the Regulation on coordination in the implementation of the Agreement on alliance and cooperation in tourism development up to 2025 also held by the leaders of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta. Joint activities have not only brought about product diversification but also aimed to develop outstanding tourism products among localities.
Similarly, on 18th March, in Nghe An Province, a conference on reopening up tourism and welcoming international tourists in 2022 also held. The main task set in the coming time is to synchronously declare related solutions, from immigration policy, pandemic prevention measures, information work, tourism promotion and stimulation, to building tourism products, setting up human resources for tourism, and promoting digital transformation, etc. At the same time, departments, agencies and branches in the province will also strengthen coordination work for the opening of tourism to achieve great efficiency; strengthen inspection, examination and handling of violations in tourism business activities, create conditions for tourism activities to develop heartily and ensure safety, etc.
Previously, the People’s Committee of Ninh Binh Province has issued Guidance No. 48/KH-UBND to open the door to international tourists to Ninh Binh Province from 15th March 2022 in order to strengthen the participation and coordination of all levels, sectors, localities, tourism businesses and the community to gradually recover and minimise damages caused by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the tourism industry and related industries and fields; mobilise the participation and response of tourism businesses to build quality and unique tourism products bearing the Ninh Binh tourism brand.
On 18th March, in Hoi An City (Quang Nam Province), Tuoi Tre Newspaper cooperated with the People's Committee of Quang Nam Province and Travelner, Vinpearl, Vietjet, Saigontourist Group to organise a seminar "Impressive Vietnam - Refreshing to welcome visitors”. As a host locality for the Visit Vietnam Year 2022, Quang Nam Province is taking advantage of opportunities to recover the tourism industry, in which focusing on renewing tourism products is one of the most important and prioritised tasks to support the locality achieving its goal, which is welcoming 4.4 million visitor arrivals, including 1.7 million international visitor arrivals in 2022. On 26th March, at Hoi An Memories Island, the MOCST coordinating with the People’s Committee of Quang Nam Province will organise the Opening ceremony for the Visit Vietnam Year - Quang Nam 2022 under the theme “Green Tourism Destination ''. This is a grand event of the tourism industry of the country in general and Quang Nam Province in particular.
From 31st March to 3rd April 2022, in Ha Noi, Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) will organise the Vietnam International Travel Mart 2022 (VITM) under the theme: “New Normal - New Opportunity for Vietnam Tourism”. The event is expected to have the participation of businesses, tourism management and promotion agencies from 52 provinces and cities nationwide and from 6 countries and territories with about 320 booths. It is also expected that tourism and aviation businesses will give out more than 10,000 stimulus tours at the Mart; 100,000 cheap flight tickets and more than 1,000 gifts. During the event, there are a number of activities: Business to Business (B2B), Business to Customer (B2C), activities of promotion centres and businesses at booths, tourism promotion activities, Vietnam Tourism Association Congress term 2022 - 2027, workshop on Tourism human resources in the recovery period of Vietnam tourism, workshop on Developing golf tourism, Online travel app contest, etc.
Especially, on 22nd March, in Quang Ninh Province, the MOCST coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province to organise a conference to launch the reopening of tourism in Vietnam. This is an event that marks the reopening of tourism in Vietnam in general and tourism in Quang Ninh Province in particular under new normal. At the conference, the MOCST announced a guidance to reopen tourism activities under new normal; Ministries, branches, localities, businesses, associations, experts... discussed coordination and cooperation to reopen tourism activities effectively; the initiative and positivity of localities and businesses in building destinations and products that adapt to the demands of international and domestic visitors.
