Tran Thi My Hanh, Director of the Nghe An Provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, shared the information at a press conference on the province’s socio-economic, defense, and security situation in the first quarter of 2025, as well as updated on the upcoming Sen Village Festival, held by the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee on April 9.
Accordingly, to commemorate the 135th birthday anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - 2025), the authority of Nghe An province will coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security, and various provinces and cities nationwide to host the Sen Village Festival 2025 and inaugurate the “Uncle Ho Returns to Homeland” Statue in Sen Village. The festival is scheduled to take place from May 9 to May 19.

Ceremonial events of the festival will include a flower offering at Uncle Ho's statue at Ho Chi Minh Square in Vinh city, followed by a procession to his hometown; a flower and incense offerings at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House and Chung Son Temple; a parade carrying President Ho Chi Minh’s portrait from the Uncle Ho Memorial House at the Kim Lien Relic Site to the Sen Village Stadium.
Festival activities will consist of an opening ceremony for the Sen Village Festival 2025 and an inauguration of the “Uncle Ho Returns to Homeland” Statue; the “Sen Village singing” contest, a photo exhibition titled “Countries and People of ASEAN”; a large-scale poster exhibition in celebration of President Ho Chi Minh’s 135th birthday anniversary; a film week featuring documentaries and films about President Ho Chi Minh, including artist exchanges and film crew meetups in Nghe An; the 29th National Traditional Wrestling Championship (2025); and many more culture, sports, and tourism events.

The festival will also feature the inauguration of the Nine-Level Waterfall project at Hoang Thi Loan's rest-in-peace place in Nam Dan district, a famtrip to develop Nghe An tourism products, the giving of the "Golden Pages of History" light sculptures, the "From Sen Village to Ho Chi Minh City" art program, and a closing ceremony.
The Sen Village Festival 2025 is a significant political and cultural event, demonstrating the deep gratitude and respect of the Vietnamese people toward President Ho Chi Minh. It also serves as an occasion to educate younger generations about Ho Chi Minh's Thought, and to promote the culture of Sen Village and Nghe An province to domestic and international friends and visitors.
