On March 31, the Da Nang Department of Tourism in coordination with the World Golf Tourism Association and relevant units, held a press conference to open AGTC 2025. This is the second time Da Nang City has been chosen to host this event.

The event is attended by 450 delegates from 33 countries and territories with 162 international buyers, of which 54% are from Asia, 26% from Europe, 11% from Australia and New Zealand, and 7% from North America.

The convention includes main activities such as: a survey program for golf travel agencies; the AGTC 2025 Golf Championship; the Asian Golf Tourism Conference, with more than 4,500 meetings between buyers and sellers; and the IAGTO Awards Ceremony.

Within the framework of AGTC 2025, the World Golf Tourism Association will announce the World Golf Tourism Awards, honouring outstanding golf courses and destinations voted by international golf tour operators.

In particular, Da Nang will be conferred the title “Outstanding Contribution to Golf Tourism”, its outstanding contributions to the development of golf tourism.

Speaking at the event, Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism said that the city aims to develop high-quality tourism, including golf tourism, by continuously hosting and organising large-scale events, such as the Golf Tourism Festival, with a focus on the Asian Golf Development Tournament - BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang.

World Golf Tourism Association President Peter Walton said: “When we first brought AGTC to Da Nang in 2017, there were only four golf courses in the city and central Vietnam. We expected that the success of the event would promote the sustainable development of golf tourism in the region. Eight years later, we returned and witnessed strong growth with eight international-class golf courses.”

Golf tourism in Da Nang and central Vietnam has witnessed rapid growth in the number of golf courses and golf rounds. According to statistics from the Central Golf Course Alliance, in 2024, the total number of golf rounds at courses in the region reached 387,000, up 13.8% compared to 2023. The number is expected to reach 410,000 in 2025, up more than 10% compared to 2024.
