This figure represents a 27% rise from the previous year and is equivalent to 83% of the number of visitors recorded in 2019. This not only breathes new life into the local economy but also demonstrates the long-term appeal of Ha Noi as a potential tourist destination.
Particularly, the number of international tourist arrivals is estimated to reach more than 4 million. This represents an impressive increase of 138.1% over the previous year and reached 57% of pre-pandemic levels in 2019. International tourist inflows reflect Ha Noi’s resilience and ability to attract global travelers, even amid global unrest.
The city welcomed 20 million domestic visitors in 2023, up 16% from the previous year, and recorded an impressive recovery of 91% compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019. The increase in domestic tourism shows the growing interest among local people in exploring the country’s important cultural heritage and historical treasures.
Total revenue from tourists in 2023 is estimated to reach nearly 87.7 trillion VND (3.65 billion USD), a 45.5% increase compared to 2022./.
