(TITC)- The opening ceremony of the Viet Nam International Travel Mart (VITM 2013) was held on April 18 at the International Center for Exhibition (91 Tran Hung Dao Street, Ha Noi).
The ceremony had the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) Hoang Tuan Anh, Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Nguyen The Thao; leaders of MoCST, the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism, Viet Nam Tourism Association, representatives of relevant ministries, international guests and tourism businesses.
Addressing at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan highly valued the initiative of and close co-ordination between tourism industry and relevant agencies in organizing the VITM 2013 in Ha Noi.
The organization of VITM 2013 would create opportunities to raise the professionalism and effectiveness of tourism activities, to strengthen the link between tourism managing agencies and businesses and to encourage demand for tourism and trade services.
According to Mr. Vu The Binh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Viet Nam Tourism Association (VITA), there have been 368 booths registered at the VITM 2013 including 101 international ones, attracting the attendance of over 400 tourism businesses, of which there are 134 international tour operators, 105 hotels and resorts, 6 international airlines.
He affirmed that the VITA would develop VITM into a travel mart of international level annually held in Viet Nam, with the aim to draw the participation of more and more domestic and overseas tourism businesses.
