Quang Ngai commemorates Holy Mother Thien Y A Na

Thousands of people flocked to the Truong Ba Temple Festival, which opened in Tra Bong district, Quang Ngai province on May 25 to commemorate the Goddess Thien Y A Na, Holy Mother of the Cham community in the Southern Central region.

The two-day festival features an offering ritual to the Holy Mother, resounding performances of gongs and lion dances by art troupes from Binh Dinh, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces.

 

A lantern release ceremony was held on previous night in Tra Bong river to pray for finest things for the people.

 

The festival is held annually on the fifteenth day of the fourth lunar month to pay tribute to Goddess Thien Y A Na, who is believed to teach Cham people to cultivate and settle down their life.
