Ho Chi Minh city greeted more than 246,000 foreign tourists in July 2013, a 9 percent rise against the same month last year, according to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Of this, number of foreigners visiting by air reached 210,000, up 8 percent while more than 36,000 foreign arrivals came to the city by road and sea, up 2 percent.
On the whole, total number of foreigners arriving the city so far this year reached more than 2.15 million, a year-on-year increase of 5.5 percent and 53 percent of the year's plan.
Total tourism turnover of the city in the first seven months this year reached an estimated VND47 trillion, up 13 percent against the same period last year and 57.3 percent of the year's plan.
