The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa is becoming the most favourite destination in Vietnam for Russians as in the first half of the year, it welcomed 79,000 arrivals, accounting for 45.5 percent of the total number of Russians to Vietnam.
Many Russians said that the province in general and its Nha Trang city in particular suit their demand for beach holidays, with more than 4,000 high-class rooms, temperate climate and unique tourism products.
Nguyen Van Thanh, director of the provincial Tourism Promotion Centre, said that the number of Russian visitors to the province is expected to hit more than 100,000 this year, as there are two to four daily direct flights from the Far East region to the Cam Ranh International Airport and two from Moscow to Nha Trang every week, starting from this October.
In an effort to attract more Russian visitors to Khanh Hoa, from July 23-25, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines transported a delegation of directors of major travel companies in Moscow and Saint Petersburg to Nha Trang to learn about its infrastructure, services and tourism products as foundations for them to set up tours for Russians.
At a reception for the Russian delegation on July 24, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Than declared that the province has been strengthening measures to ensure a safe tourism environment for international visitors and those from Russia in particular.
