Ho Chi Minh City welcomed 2.8 million international arrivals in nine months

(TITC) - According to report of the HCMC's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first nine months of 2013, the city attracted over 2.8 million international arrivals, reaching 68 percent of target for 2013, up 3 percent compared to last year's same period. Total tourism revenue estimated VND 63,282 billion, 77 percent of the year's plan, increased by 20 percent over the same period last year.

 

In order to achieve these notable results, Ho Chi Minh City has actively promoted to lure tourists to attractive destinations in the city.

 

In addition, HCMC's tourism also responded to the Tourism Stimulus Program 2013, in which 64 HCMC's companies registered to participate, including 22 travel agencies, 25 accommodation establishments and museums, restaurants. Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association in collaboration with Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air has implemented domestic tourism stimulus program from 1st Apr. to 31th Dec. 2013 offering discounts of 38-58 percent on air tickets for some domestic routes such as from Ho Chi Minh City to Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc. Many travel agencies have committed to reducing their tour package price by 30 percent.

 

Specially, Saigon Grand Sales Fair 2013 will be organized in Dec.2013 at standard shopping facilities, shopping centers, traditional markets such as Ben Thanh market, Binh Tay market...
