(TITC) – According to Quang Ninh’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first 2 months of 2014, the province attracted 2.4 million tourist arrivals, increasing by 8% over the same period last year.
Of which, over-night tourist arrivals were 500,000, increasing by 8%; international tourist arrivals increased by 14%. Tourism receipts reached VND 1,000 billion, up 17% over the same period of 2013.
Particularly, during Lunar New Year, from January 30th to February 6th, the number of tourists to Quang Ninh increased 15% over the same period last year with more than 80,000 arrivals to Yen Tu Relic, 68,000 arrivals to Ha Long Bay, the hotel occupancy rate of 3-4 stars also reached 90%.
At present, Quang Ninh Province is also actively preparing for typical tourism activities such as Ha Long - Quang Ninh Tourism Week, tourist summer season... with many attractive activities which would help boost tourist arrivals to Quang Ninh in the coming time.
