Festival highlights national cultural values

A five-day festival dubbed “2014 Spring Honours National Culture” concluded with a big art performance on April 9 night at Bao Son Paradise Park in Hanoi to raise fund for needy studious children. 

Themed “The Spring Aspiration”, the programme drew the participation of various art troupes from Hanoi and neighbouring localities, as well as many pop stars.

Addressing the event, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong said the event contributed to preserving and promoting the traditional culture of the nation. It also helped raise the public awareness on the community’s responsibilities in the field.

Meanwhile, Thuan Huu, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association – the organiser of the festival – noted that during its five days of running, the festival covered various attractive activities such as ceremonies to offer incense to Hung Kings and honour founders of trade villages, and an exhibition showcasing traditional products from of craft villages nationwide.

The association also chose Nguyen Thanh Tu, a student of the Academy of Journalism and Communications who is one of the 10 outstanding faces of the Ms AdAsia online photo beauty contest, as its charity ambassador.
