Festival honoring Lang Co Bay to come

(TITC) - In response to Hue Festival 2014 and heading towards the 5th anniversary of Lang Co Bay’s recognition as the beautiful bay of the world (2009), from May 24-25 2014, “Lang Co – the world’s most beautiful bay” festival will take place in Lang Co Town, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien-Hue Province. 

The event under the theme “Lang Co- Love Song of Beach Town” will be held by the Phu Loc District People's Committee in the coordination with Thua Thien Hue Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Thua Thien Hue Tourism Association.

The festival “Lang Co – the world’s most beautiful bay” is an opportunity to honor the economic, cultural, scenic values and ecological environment of Lang Co Bay; as well as to confirm the position and potential of Chan May economic zone; to develop tourism and attract more foreign investors to the locality.

In the framework of the festival, there will be many activities as art performances, traditional boat racing, sports tournaments, cuisine, beer festivals, folk games, exhibitions, fireworks...

Located about 60 km to the south of Hue City, Lang Co Bay is considered as one of the most natural and beautiful bays of Viet Nam.

Being endowed with over 10km long beach with white sand, and pure sea water, the Bay has favorable conditions to develop beach resorts, eco-tourism, sea sports…In addition, Lang Co also lies in the route “The Central Heritage Road” with 4 famous world heritage sites including Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh Province, the Royal Citadel of Hue, Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary in Quang Nam Province.

5 years after the recognition as one of the world's most beautiful bays, Lang Co has been developing strongly with tourism revenue growth of 25 - 30% per year. Lang Co has now 53 resorts and hotels with more than 1,200 rooms and many other services to meet tourists’ demand during their stay.
