The central province of Thua Thien-Hue has launched a special tourism promotion programme “Gold Tourism Month” from September 2-30 on the occasion of the National Day (September 2).
During the month, visitors will enjoy a discount on entrance tickets to relics and transit service via electric buses. Discounts of 50 percent will be applied to Nha Nhac or royal court music performances and 10-20 percent for other services like souvenir and drink.
Groups of 20 or more who arrive at site will be offered a free presenter. Students enjoy free entrance ticket at any sites.
From now to the end of this year, the province steps up tourism promotion activities and plans to invite farmtrips from Japan, the Republic of Korea and Thailand to inquire into Hue ancient imperial city and central provinces. It will organise roadshows in Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi and central region with the aim of luring more visitors from the localities.
In addition, the tourism sector has improved service quality, tourism environment while implementing promotion packages and launching new tourism products.
Apart from their traditional markets, travel agencies in the province are expanding to promising markets in foreign countries.
In 2014, Thua Thien-Hue targets to welcome between 2.8-3 million visitors, including 1.2-1.3 million foreigners, and register a growth of 16-18 percent in revenues.
In the first seven months of this year, the province greeted nearly 1.8 million tourists, including 650,000 foreigners, raking in 1,626 billion VND.
The Hue Relic Site was recognised by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage in 1993, and the Hue Royal Court Music was recognised as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2003.
