Nearly 70 works of art featuring the landscapes, people and culture of Belarus painted by famous Belarusian artists are on display at an exhibition that opened in Ha Noi on November 3.
The five-day event is part of the Belarus Culture Days in Viet Nam, which run from October 29 to November 7.
According to Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien, the exhibition aims to enhance cultural and tourism exchange between the two nations, thus fostering Vietnamese-Belarusian ties.
Vietnamese people continuously feel grateful for the support and assistance of the Belarusian people during Viet Nam’s past struggle for national liberation and the ongoing nation-building process, he said.
Within the framework of the Belarus Culture Days in Viet Nam, the Belarusian troupes Pesnyary and I. Zhinovich will perform at the Ha Noi Opera House on November 4 and in the northern port city of Hai Phong on November 5.
The performances will see the participation of Belarusian Culture Minister B.V. Svetlov, who is on an official visit to Viet Nam from November 2-5 at the invitation of Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh.
During the visit, an agreement on the cultural cooperation programme for 2014-16 is expected to be signed, with a view to creating a legal basis for strengthening cultural exchanges between the two countries in future.
