The imperial tomb of King Tu Duc will still welcome tourists during its preservation.
The information was released by Phan Thanh Hai, director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, on November 19th when he mentioned the tombs preservation.
Mr. Hai said that it is necessary to organise more diligently with a view to the visitor’s health and safety during the period of preservation. They needed to ensure the least inconvenience to the visitors or disturbance to the contractors. He added that nearly 300,000 tourists, including nearly 180,000 foreign tourists, come to the tomb each year.
Earlier, Chairman of Thua Thien – Hue provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Cao had approved a five-year project on the tomb restoration and preservation with an investment of more than VND105 billion.
