Art programme promotes ASEAN unity

An art programme named ‘ASEAN Great Unity – A Vision, An Identity, A Community’ took place at the Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Ha Noi on November 21.

The event, which was organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and embassies of ASEAN member countries in Viet Nam, attracted nearly 200 people from ethnic minority groups, including Muong from Hoa Binh province, Thai and H’Mong from Son La province, Cham from Binh Thuan province, Ba Na and Gia Rai from Kon Tum province.

Under the theme ‘Unity – Co-operation – Development’, the programme introduced the culture of ASEAN member countries to enhance the understanding and connectivity among the nations, contributing to build a united, dynamic and developed ASEAN community for a peacful and prosperous region.

The programme comprises many activities to promote tourism, images of land and people of the ASEAN member countries, their cultural heritage, as well as traditional sports and culture of Vietnamese groups.

Speaking at the gathering, Le Luong Minh, ASEAN Secretary General stressed the event’s purpose to introduce the unified cultural diversity of 54 groups in Viet Nam and that of ASEAN nations in order to promote the bloc’s unity.
