A week-long event to glorify Viet Nam’s sea and island culture and tourism kicked off on November 21 with an arts performance at the Culture and Arts Exhibition Culture, Ha Noi.
At the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien said the Viet Nam Sea and Islands Culture and Tourism Week aims to honour unique cultural values of the country’s sea and islands and popularise them beyond the country.
The event also creates opportunities to call for investments into coastal areas, he underscored, adding that it also contributes to raising public awareness of preserving sea and island heritage.
On this occasion, a number of activities will be held, including a showcase of antiques found in Viet Nam’s sea.
Participating coastal provinces will feature their cultures, relic sites, festivals, landscapes as well as popularising their potential eco-tourism.
