Ba Ria – Vung Tau targets over 15 million tourists in 2015

Ba Ria – Vung Tau strives to greet more than 15 million tourists, including 545,000 foreign arrivals in 2015, grossing revenue of over VND3.72 trillion, reported the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Ho Van Loi, Director of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that aiming to achieve the targets, the local tourism sector will focus on key tasks such as completing overall planning on tourism development until 2020, with a vision to 2030; removing difficulties for tourism enterprises, improving the quality of festivals and events, selecting some typical relics for restoration and building projects that supports vocational skills training for tourism workers.

According to Mr. Ho Van Loi, Ba Ria – Vung Tau will organise an art performance to kick off Ba Ria – Vung Tau Festival in February 26th in Ba Ria city and the festival from February 27th to 31st. The festival will gather travel agencies, hotels, tourism areas and restaurants with 85 gastronomy kiosks, souvenir exhibition, amusement park, art performances and unicorn and dragon dances.

In 2014, the provincial tourism sector received and provided services for 14 million tourists, earning a turnover of VND3.35 trillion.
