The Tuong Xu Quang (Quang Nam classic drama region) art performance has been recognised as a National Intangible Heritage.
The central city's culture, sport and tourism department said the art features the national development by generations of Quang Nam people.
The art performance has been preserved and developed, in spite of the rapid urbanisation of the city.
Tourists often book tours to see Tuong performances at the city's Nguyen Hien Dinh Theatre during visits to Da Nang.
Also, the city preserves a collection of 204 classical tuong scripts, written in Han (Chinese) characters and Vietnamese ideographic characters (Nom), and published between 1802-45.
