The annual Viet Nam-Japan cultural exchange festival opened on the night of August 15 in the UNESCO-listed Hoi An Ancient Town with lively dance and musical performances.
Hoi An – Japan Cultural Exchange has been an annual event since 2003. After 13 years of organizing, the event has gained the great effect attracting public attention and left a deep impression in the hearts of the participants. Thereby, it has contributed to enhance the mutual understanding and strengthen the friendship between the people of Hoi An and Japan.
As many as 46,448 tourists visited the central province of Quang Nam during January 1-3, a year-on-year increase of 20.6 percent.
A wide range of activities will be organised in the central province of Quang Nam’s Hoi An city on the threshold of the New Year 2016 as part of the local authority’s efforts to lure more visitors to the world cultural heritage.

Water puppetry performances began in the World Cultural Heritage Site of Hoi An Ancient Town on a weekly basis as from October 2, adding a new attraction to both tourists and local people.
In 2015, Quang Nam province supported and advanced grant VND 1.9 billion to restore the relics at risk of collapse in Hoi An ancient town.
