More than 500 actors and actresses performed in the colourful closing ceremony of the fourth Quang Nam - Heritage Journey Festival held in the central coastal city of Hoi An on the evening of June 6.
The night gala featured many artistic shows on the poetic banks of the Thu Bon River, including that depicting peaceful village life by the river and the aspiration for peace and prosperity of the people.
This year’s festival comprised many art and cultural activities typical of different regions and ethnic communities across the country, and special performance programmes from the Republic of Korea, Japan and Laos. It was also attended for the first time by world beauty queens, who had exchange meetings with local people and tourists.
The event has left a strong impression on foreign tourists. “Hoi An nights are so nice and wonderful. We have had a chance to view the regional characteristics which do not exist in my country,†said a tourist from Germany.
The fourth Quang Nam - Heritage Journey Festival coincides with the 10th anniversary of the My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An ancient town, being recognized by the UNESCO as world cultural heritage sites.
