The 8th Vietnam Poetry Day was held by the Vietnam Writers’ Association at the Opera House in Ho Chi Minh City on February 24 in coordination with the HCMC Writers’ Association.
The National Poetry Day, the first of its kind in HCMC, carried the theme “the Southern thoughts of Thang Long†as part of the activities to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
The event focused on featuring the special characteristics of Thang Long-Hanoi, such as Dong Xuan Market, the Lunar New Year celebrations, calligraphy, fortune-telling and folk singing.
On the occasion, other activities are also held for poetry-lovers, such as an exchange with young poets and an introduction of new poetry.
