Festival to honour Vietnam’s handicraft villages
Update: Sep 01, 2010
A festival to honour handicraft villages and streets will be organised in Hanoi from September 16-21.

This information was released at a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on August 31.

The festival, jointly held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is aimed at preserving the nation’s traditional cultural characteristics and helping handicraft villages and streets to expand their business.

There will be a variety of activities during the festival including a display of special handicraft products from 10 villages and streets in Hanoi and an incense ceremony to honour the founder of the traditional trades.

More than 200 organisations and businesses from 50 provinces across the country have registered for the festival, said the organising committee.
