About 300 domestic and foreign woodwork and handicraft enterprises gathered for the EXPO 2010 in HCM city on October 6.
The enterprises introduce their products in 700 show-cases and also join an online expo to help promote their products and trademarks to the world.
The online expo attracted more than 800 businesses with 7,000 products, an increase of 21% in the number of business over 2009 and 40% more in products.
The annual fair is under the national trade promotion programme with the aim of speeding up Vietnamese woodwork and handicraft exports.
In recent years, similar fairs became the destination for world leading importers, which raised export turnover in this sector (US$590 million in 2005, US$2.06 billion in 2006, US$3.04 billion in 2009 and expected US$4.5 billion in 2010).
International seminars between Vietnamese enterprises and importers from Turkey and Japan will be involved the fair.
