Festival of Asian Children’s Art held in Hanoi
Update: Oct 14, 2010
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan opened the Mitsubishi Asian Children’s Enikki Festa 2010-2011 in Hanoi on October 13.

The festival will display the fine arts of children aged 6-12 from all over Asia. It aims to encourage fine arts in children and enable them to express their knowledge and points of view about their lives through their paintings.

It also aims to improve teaching fine arts and provides an excellent opportunity for Vietnamese children to meet with international friends.

Vietnam has taken part in the festival several times and has always been the country which submitted the largest number of entries.

By this year’s theme, children are free to illustrate every aspect of their lives including their families, schools, entertainment, custom, cities and people. The children were encouraged to use all kind of materials such as waxed colours, felt pen, pastels, and water colours for painting.

Each entry must have at least 5 paintings, unframed and on A4 portrait paper and must be sent within November 15-18. A third of the space on each paper must also be left free for 4-5 line captioning.

There will be prizes granted by the Japanese organizing board, and others for the Vietnamese Ministry.
