A collection of photographs featuring Vietnamese landscape is on display as part of an exhibition entitled “Dialogue with Geological Heritage†which is open at the Hanoi Opera House until July 24.
The collection is a compilation of entries to a photography competition organized by the Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources and the Vietnam Artistic Photographers’ Association (VAPA).
Ban Gioc Waterfall in the northern province of Cao Bang and Ma PiLeng mountain pass and stone fences in the northern province of Ha Giang are just a couple of geological wonders.
VAPA President Vu Quoc Khanh said, “Photographers help viewers better understand the concept of geological heritage through their photos. That is one of the remarkable features of this exhibition.â€
He added that the participants had a good knowledge of photography and creativity in handling colour and light for their photos.
The organizing board on July 17 awarded firs prize to Hoang Trung Thuy for his collection, “Rock and Sea of Vietnamâ€. Thuy, from Ho Chi Minh City, said he had spent seven years compiling his collection.
The exhibition in the framework of the second Asia-Pacific Geoparks Networks Symposium has attracted nearly 350 local and international representatives. The focus of discussion is on encouraging the public to participate in the development of geological parks and ways of popularizing geological heritage and introducing new geological parks.
