‘Vietnam’s water puppetry is the cultural event which we most look forward to in Nuevo Leon state,’ said Liliana Melo de Sada, the head of the organising board of Santa Lucia international stage festival in Mexico, in a press conference to present the event on September 8.

According to Ms. Sada, Vietnam’s water puppetry always attract audiences in Monterrey in particular and Mexico in general, especially young audiences because of the unique creativity of this kind of stage.
In 2007, Vietnam Puppet Union participated in the 1st Santa Lucia stage festival, where they first left deep impressions and memories with the Monterrey audiences.
Together with Vietnam's water puppetry, the Swan Lake ballet of Monterrey ballet dance society and the performance of a Canadian artist will be the highlights of the biggest cultural event in Mexico this year.
Santa Lucia international stage festival will take place in a few weeks time in the industrial city of Monterrey, approximately 1,000 km north of the capital, Mexico City. The organising board hopes there will be 170 different cultural activities at the festival, with the participation of 600 artists from 30 countries.
