Update: May 17, 2012
An art programme held at Hanoi’s Friendship Cultural Palace on May 15 celebrated President Ho Chi Minh’s 122nd birthday (May 19, 1890 – 2012), and was attended by the Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other Party and State leaders.

The programme, co-organised by the Party Central Committee’s (PCC) Commission for Communication and Education and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, featured songs and dances by nearly 100 performers praising Uncle Ho, the beloved national leader who devoted his life to the country’s independence and the population’s prosperity.

Documentaries on the life of the President as well as the love of the Vietnamese people and the army for him were also screened during the event.

During the event, the PCC Commission for Communication and Education launched an award on composing and promoting literary, arts and press works with the theme ‘studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example’ for the 2011-2015 period.

The awards, held in response to the Politburo’s Directive No.3 on promoting the ‘Studying and Following President Ho Chi Minh's Moral Example’ campaign and the PCC fourth Plenum, 11th tenure Resolution on Party building, aim to help Party members and people from all walks of life thoroughly understand the President’s ideology and morals.
