Lunar New Year 2016 of Vietnamese Community in France

(TITC) – On 13 February 2016, at Pavillon Baltard in Nogent-sur-Marne City, Vietnamese Cultural Centre in France (CCV) coordinated with Vietnamese People Association in France to organize the celebration of Lunar New Year 2016 under the theme “Spring in Highlands”.

In attendance were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son - Vietnamese Ambassador to France and his wife; Mr. Le Hong Phan - Ambassador, head of the Vietnamese Permanent Delegation to UNESCO and his wife; representatives of Embassies in France of Laos, Singapore, Cambodia, Myanmar, South Korea…; representatives of local authorities and associations in France; and a large number of Vietnamese people in France.

In his opening speech, Mr. Ngo Kim Hung – Secretary General of Vietnamese People Association in France emphasized that the theme of this program aims at tightening solidarity among the peoples in all regions of the country. He wished all Vietnamese people great health, happiness, success, wealth and prosperity.

At the program, Viet Nam Association of Architects and other organizations in France created a space imbued with the national identity in the area of 3,000m2 through reproducing the image of Rong House – a cultural symbol of the Central Highlands and magical scenery of the mountainous Northwest. In addition, typical art program with songs and dances relevant to the legend of Lac Long Quan and Au Co took place to remind the origin of the Vietnamese.
