(TITC) - Responding to National Tourism Year of Red River Delta - Hai Phong 2013, Viet Nam International Travel Mart 2013 (VITM 2013) with the theme "Exploring the Red River Delta - The source of Vietnamese culture" officially closed on 21st April after 4 days with many exciting, plentiful activities and attracted a large number of visitors.
The closing ceremony had the attendance of Mr. Ho Anh Tuan - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan - General Director of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT); Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Deputy General Director of VNAT; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Deputy General Director of VNAT; Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho - Chairman of Viet Nam Tourism Association (VITA); Mr. Vu The Binh - Vice Chairman of VITA and Chief of VITM's Organization Committee; Mr. Tran Huu Binh - Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Province's People's Committee and international guests, representatives of tourism-related organizations, media agencies...
Assessing results of VITM 2013, Mr. Vu The Binh - Chief of Organization Committee stated that VITM 2013 has received enthusiastic supports of domestic and foreign organizations. The mart had 368 booths, of which 101 ones of tourism promotion agencies and businesses, universities from 18 countries and territories in the world and 267 domestic booths; 401 participation units. Many booths were designed meticulously and beautifully such as the booths of VNAT, Ha Noi's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoitourist and some international booths including the Republic of Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand...
The tourism businesses had opportunities to exchange, develop relationships with partners and customers. This is the first time the form of selling directly tours to customers has been applied. The tourism businesses sold more than 6,000 tours for visitors. The airlines sold more than 8,000 cheap tickets. During the VITM 2013 time, there were 5 seminars, 12 press conferences with the participation of a large number of representatives of travel agencies, airlines, media agencies, exhibitors..., 01 forum on tourism employment attracting more than 1,000 students.
The mart attracted more than 1,200 businesses to seek opportunities about exchange and expansion of markets and many journalists of media agencies to report on the mart. VITM 2013 welcomed more than 40,000 visitors.
Viet Nam International Travel Mart - VITM 2013 ends with grand success and makes much impression in international and domestic visitors' mind. The Organization Committee awarded commemorative medals for 2 diamond sponsors as Sai Gon Binh Tay Beer Joint Stock Company (Sagota) and Vietnam Airlines; 5 co-sponsors as Saigontourist, Rex Hotel Ho Chi Minh City, Daewoo Ha Noi Hotel, Vinamilk and Environmentally Socially Responsible Tourism (ESRT) project; and 9 typical international and domestic booths in the mart.
