The management board of the Con Dao National Park in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau has sent a dossier to the Viet Nam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE), asking for the recognition of its three ancient trees as Viet Nam heritage trees.
More than 2,300 foreign tourists have booked rooms at hotels and resorts this month on Con Dao Islands off the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, up 35 per cent year-on-year, according to the Con Dao District tourism authorities.
With their pristine seas, the Con Dao Islands are home to a large number of sea turtles. Every year, between April and November, their breeding season, thousands of turtles crawl ashore to lay eggs in the sand, providing a fascinating experience for visitors to the beautiful island.
