As a locality with strong advantages in marine and island tourism, Van Don’s smart tourism development not only expands market access and promotes the destination’s image, but also helps address challenges in visitor management, security and public safety, environmental protection, and sustainable development. Accommodation providers and tourism service businesses in Van Don have gradually adopted technology in management and operations, such as online booking systems, cashless payments, and digital platforms for service feedback, thereby contributing to impoved service quality and greater professionalism.

The deployment of digital platforms in tourism management, destination digitalization, technology adoption at large resorts such as Sonasea Van Don and Wyndham Garden, the development of the Quan Lan – Minh Chau smart island model, the installation of surveillance camera systems at passenger ports and key areas.... reflect the province’s consistent leadership and governance, thus ensuring that digital transformation is implemented in a forcused and substantive manner and closely aligned with the requirements of sustainable development.

As a result of the above-mentioned efforts, Van Don received more than 2.3 million tourist arrivals in 2025, up 111% compared to the scenario target and 128% year-on-year, with tourism revenue reaching approximately 3.7 trillion VND, a 31% year-on-year increase.

In 2026, Van Don Special Zone will continue to develop modern tourism and service-based economy, further affirming its leading role in economic development, with a target of welcoming 2.5 million tourist arrivals and generating over 4 trillion VND in revenue.
