Ha Noi attracts tourists with highlights in cuisine and craft villages
Update: Dec 10, 2025
Ha Noi continues to promote craft village tourism and culinary tourism, showcasing the cultural beauty of the capital through the Ha Noi Culinary and Craft Village Tourism Festival held from December 11 - 14.

Tourism products from Ha Noi’s craft villages have always held strong appeal for visitors.

To further stimulate tourism activities from now until the end of the year, while also preparing to “catch the wave” of Lunar New Year tourism, from December 11 - 14, 2025, the Ha Noi Department of Tourism is organising the Ha Noi Culinary and Craft Village Tourism Festival at the Tay Ho Creative Cultural Space (Tay Ho Ward).

This is a large-scale tourism promotion event aimed at honouring the value of traditional craft villages, promoting cuisine, and introducing the capital’s distinctive destinations to the public. With the theme “A Hundred Exquisite Crafts, A Thousand Flavours Spread,” the event features 80 - 100 booths across an area of about 5,000 m².

The main spaces include: the craft village and guild street tourism space under the theme “Craft Villages: Past and Present”; the Ha Noi culinary essence space - “Everlasting Flavours of the Past”; and the tourism destination promotion space - “Wandering Ha Thanh.”

In the craft village area, Ha Noi has selected several representative craft villages such as Bat Trang pottery, Van Phuc silk, Ha Thai lacquerware, Quat Dong embroidery, Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan weaving, and Ngu Xa bronze casting. Notably, two craft villages recognised as members of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Crafts and Folk Arts - Bat Trang pottery village and Van Phuc silk village - serve as key highlights.

The display area features outstanding craft village products combining tourism with two value groups: traditional craftsmanship and modern design, reflecting the connection between past and present. Exhibited crafts include ceramics, wood and gilding, bronze casting, silk, lacquer, and mother-of-pearl inlay.

The guild street tourism space showcases the beauty of old Ha Noi, with a focus on the story of Hang Ma Street during the Tet season.

Here, visitors can view artefacts, archival photographs, and models recreating traditional stalls, along with iconic products from the guild street such as Tet decorations, Mid-Autumn toys, and to he figurines. The space also features demonstrations of crafting techniques and on-site product creation, as well as information on craft village tours, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical value of Ha Noi’s guild streets.

Meanwhile, the Ha Noi culinary essence space brings together many of the city’s most beloved dishes such as beef pho, bun cha, egg coffee, West Lake shrimp cake, along with village-specialty foods such as Vong village green rice, Phu Thuong sticky rice, and Thanh Tri steamed rolled rice cakes.

The organisers have also arranged a recreated old Ha Noi house, lotus tea-brewing demonstrations, and cooking activities with artisans and chefs, offering authentic and emotionally rich culinary - cultural experiences.

The tourism promotion zone displays miniature models of notable landmarks and symbols of the capital such as the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Long Bien Bridge, and Turtle Tower - Hoan Kiem Lake; as well as exhibiting art photographs featuring Ha Noi’s culture, architecture, and craft villages.

Cultural tourism, with a focus on craft villages and culinary values, has always been a strength of Ha Noi. The festival is an opportunity for the city to once again bring these values closer to the public.

The event is organised by the Ha Noi Department of Tourism in coordination with various departments, agencies, and local People’s Committees, with the Ha Noi Centre for Tourism Information and Promotion directly responsible for organising, designing the spaces, implementing communications activities, and connecting enterprises and artisans.

The festival contributes to promoting the capital’s image as “a safe, friendly, high-quality, and attractive destination” to both domestic and international visitors.
