Thousands go to Phan Thiet lantern parade

Thousands of locals and tourists joined the Mid- Autumn Festival on September 23 evening in Phan Thiet City.

This year’s festival themed “Phan Thiet’s children welcome Mid-Autumn festival in the lead up to the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and the National Party Congress,” had over 40 giant lanterns and around 5,000 smaller lanterns making a by over 4,000 students in the 3km parade along Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ton Duc Thang, Thu Khoa Huan, Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Du streets.

Many lanterns were made in shape of Hanoi icons such as King Ly Thai To, flying dragons, the golden turtle in Hoan Kiem Lake, One-Pillar Pagoda, lotus flowers, Khue Van Cac Pavilion, Temple of Literature and Dong Son bronze drums.

The best lanterns at the festival were granted awards.
