A tourism promotion conference for the central province of Thua Thien-Hue in 2011 took place in Ho Chi Minh City on January 19.
The conference also announced the National Tourism Year 2012 which will be hosted by the province.
It is part of activities to continue promoting images of land, people and tourism products as well as advertise the province’s plan to organise a National Tourism Year 2012.
Last year, the province received more than 1.6 million visitors, a year-on-year increase of 13%.
On the sidelines of the conference, the provincial tourism association introduced tourism destinations and organised exhibitions and meetings among businesses.
On the occasion, Thua Thien Hue Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a memorandum of understanding on promoting tourism cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The Vice Director of Thua Thien Hue Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Quoc Thanh, said it was a good chance for the province to promote tourism. It will improve the quality of services and infrastructure to attract more visitors.
