Vietnamese lacquer painting exhibition set for April in Beijing

40 lacquer paintings by more than 30 Vietnamese painters, depicting the beauty of Vietnamese land and people, will be displayed at an exhibition in Beijing from April 10 to 17.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a document on the organization of the Vietnamese lacquer painting exhibition 2011 in China’s capital, Beijing.

The exhibition will be in the framework of the National Action Programme on Tourism, to popularize Vietnamese images, and the Programme on Vietnam-China Friendship Year 2011.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition and the Department of International Cooperation in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing to organize the event.

The exhibition will aim to promote and expand friendship, cultural cooperation and the implementation of the framework agreement signed by the two governments, as well as develop cultural exchanges, share experiences, glorify traditional values and strengthen the friendship relations among people of the two countries.
