(TITC) - After 5 days with many specific cultural, art activities, in the evening 14th May 2013, in Hai Phong Fine Art Exhibition Center, the closing ceremony of Red River Delta - Hai Phong Tourism Fair 2013 was held. This is an activity in the frame work of Culture, Sports, Tourism Week of Red River Delta - Hai Phong 2013 and the 2nd Red Flamboyant Hai Phong (from 9 to 17 May 2013).
The closing ceremony had the attendance of Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People's Committee, Standing Chief of Organization Committee of National Tourism Year 2013 - Le Khac Nam; Director of Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - Doan Duy Linh; Chairman of Hai Phong Tourism Association - Pham Quang Vinh; representatives of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the provinces, cities in the open Red River Delta region; representatives of departments, units on Hai Phong City; and a large number of residents and tourists.
With scale of 190 standard booths located on a total area of 1.800m², the Red River Delta - Hai Phong Tourism Fair 2013 is divided into two areas as tourism exhibition area and cuisine festival area.
The tourism exhibition area has 104 booths of 45 units including: Tourism Information Technology Center (VNAT); departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 18 provinces, cities (Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Ha Noi, Vinh Phuc, Hai Duong, Ha Nam, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Binh, Quang Trị and Ho Chi Minh City) and 26 tour operators and hotels inside and outside the city. The units actively implemented tourism promotion activities in various forms such as: displaying images of unique landscape sites; introducing tourism activities in the localities; providing publications to introduce tourism tours; promoting local specialties...
The highlight of the fair is the booth of Tourism Information Technology Center (VNAT) with an area of 90m2 designed magnificently. The booth displayed many documents and images introducing activities and statistics of the tourism industry, tourist attractions in Red River Delt, which attracted a lot of visitors.

Along with the tourism exhibition area, the cuisine festival area was also designed impressed with traditional countryside market models in the Red River Delta. With the participation of 15 restaurants and hotels in Hai Phong, the cuisine area introduced to residents and visitors special food dishes of Hai Phong City as crab hot pot, crab spring rolls, crab noodle, grilled mackerel pie, Cat Hai fish sauce, Cat Ba honey, Cat Ba roses tea... At here, Viet Nam Record Organization recognized 2 new cuisine records as the largest crab hot pot in Viet Nam (diameter of 1.55m, height of 0.57m, volume of 500 liters, enough for 1,500 people) and the largest grilled mackerel pie (made from 130kg of fresh mackerel into mackerel shape with 2m in length, more than 50kg in weight, enough for 1,000 people). In addition, Tourism Promotion Information centers of the provinces, cities also brought to the fair specific products of the localities such as Ke rice pancake, Chu rice noodle, Van Village wine (Bac Giang); Bui fermented pork (Bac Ninh); Cay cake (Thai Binh), green bean cake (Hai Duong).
The Red River Delta - Hai Phong Tourism Fair 2013 is opportunity for tour operators to promote images and services, attract many tourists to visit, seek information and buy summer tours. This is also a chance for them to grasp tourists’ demand, thereby building new tourist products. At the fair, the large enterprises such as Viettravel, Saigon Tourist achieved sales of over 1 VND billion.
In the framework of the closing ceremony, the Organization Committee was awarded the certificates for the units participating in the fair.
As one of the major tourist centers of the northern Viet Nam, Hai Phong tourism is trying extremely to attract domestic tourists and international friends to the city.
With the direct of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hai Phong People's Committee, the effective coordination and support of VNAT, the departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the provinces, cities nationwide and departments, units of Hai Phong City; the active participation of tourism enterprises, the Red River Delta - Hai Phong Tourism Fair 2013 took place successfully and gave for visitors and Hai Phong residents a overview and detailed picture about the potential and advantages in tourism development of the Red River Delta as well as Hai Phong City.
