The Ministry of Health’s Tobacco Control Fund held a campaign at Tue Tinh Beach Park (Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province) on September 13 to promote a smoke-free environment at home, restaurants and in public places. This is the 2nd media initiative developed in the main cities and provinces of tourism such as Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa.

The campaign aims to protect public health; promote the implementation of the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms; to raise public awareness of the hazardous effects of tobacco use to protect the health of individuals, families and communities; increase the community’s engagement in response and commitment to taking action to develop a smoke-free environment for a safe, friendly and civilized destination.
At the program, the leaders of the Department of Health also called on people, restaurants, hotels, cafes, public places and tourist attractions to join efforts to create a smoke-free environment. Delegates led the official launch; 70 young people cycled to spread propaganda on main roads; and "No Smoking" signs were hung and posted at 200 hotels, restaurants and cafes in the province.
