According to Mr. Le Quoc Viet, Chairman of the “Quang Destination - Preserving Local Values” Club, Da Nang currently has two core tourism hubs: the city center and Hoi An Ancient Town.

Additionally, the city boasts four distinctive tourism areas. The first is the coastal strip, stretching about 215km of coastline, islands, peninsulas, bays and ports from Hai Van Pass to the end of Nui Thanh. The second is the surrounding area with a distance of less than 20km from the core area with notable destinations such as Hoa Vang, Hoa Bac, Triem Tay, Tra Nhieu, and South Hoi An. The third is the midland area with a distance of less than 70km, and the last is the highland area deep within the Truong Son mountain range.

Mr. Phan Xuan Thanh, Director of Emic Hospitality Hoi An Co., Ltd., said that Da Nang’s tourism can be divided into five zones: the creative urban zone (the city center); the cultural heritage zone centered around Hoi An - Cu Lao Cham - My Son; the community-based agricultural tourism zone surrounding the main tourist hubs; the pharmaceutical and medical industrial development zone to the south of the city; and the medicinal herb and local cultural zone linked to the highland forests.

Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Mr. Tan Van Vuong informed that in the coming time, Da Nang will continue developing effectively exploited tourism spaces, and at the same time expanding high-quality, priority tourism spaces.

Accordingly, the city will lay an emphasize on high-end tourism, leisure, and entertainment spaces aligned with green standards along the coastline, both banks of the Han River, the Ba Na - Suoi Mo route, and the banks of the Co Co River, and in several locations in the southern part of the city.

Other focuses will be on cultural and historical tourism space associated with preserving and promoting heritage values in Hoi An and My Son; traditional craft villages along the Thu Bon River; and spiritual and cultural tourism centers at the Marble Mountains and Linh Ung Pagoda, along with museums, historical sites, and community-based tourism areas in the western part of the city.
