To celebrate the 52nd anniversary of Uncle Ho’s visit to the fishing village (March 31, 1959 - March 31, 2011), the traditional day of Vietnam’s Aquaculture Industry (April 1) and Cat Ba tourism 2011, People’s Committee of Cat Hai District will coordinate with other departments to organize the fishing village festival with various commemorating, arts and culture activities as follows:
- Celebrating the 52nd anniversary of Uncle Ho’s visit to the fishing village of Cat Hai-Cat Ba and opening ceremony of Cat Ba tourism (at night of March 31).
- Dragon Boat Racing of the 17th Hai Phong Newspaper's Cup and Kayak racing (in the morning of April 1).
- Starting the South fish season (April 1).
- Cat Ba Trade - Tourism - Aquaculture Exhibition 2011 (from March 25 to April 1) at stadium in Cat Ba Tourist Center.
- Youth Camping Festival (from March 30 to the end of April 1).
- Open Men’s Volleyball Championship of Cat Hai District (from March 30 to April 1, 2011).
- Arts Performance Program of the art troupes from Hanoi - Hai Phong - Thai Nguyen - Son La.
- Inauguration of the 110 KV Grid Project in Cat Hai Island; Public Hygiene No.1 Project in Cat Ba Tourist Center; awarding the Certificate of Cat Ba Archipelago Biosphere Reserve Label...
